Everyone on this campus seems to chasing love. They want to go to parties so they can meet people, even if half the people they meet are drunk and won’t remember their name by the next morning. They will do things one night, and then regret it the next morning. I don’t see how this can be satisfying at all. 99% of the time, you can’t tell if the person you are talking to is being genuine or not, and 99% of the time, they aren’t. They just want that moment of fun. That’s all they want. Love is rare and special. And I’ve only seen lust since I’ve gotten here.
Lust has nothing but bad consequences. 1 John 2:16 says, “For everything in the world, the cravings of a sinful man, the lust of the eyes, and the boasting of what he has and does, comes not from the Father but of the world.” Anything “of the world” is not pure, is not clean, is not righteous, and is not worthy of our time and commitment. Sometimes I wish I could just tell these people to relax a little bit and stop worrying about searching for love. It will come to you I promise. God is creating someone perfect for you.
Take Adam and Eve for example. Adam didn’t go searching for Eve. Adam was SLEEPING when God created Eve for him. Emphasis on the “SLEEPING” part. Genesis 2:21-22 “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from the man He made into a woman and he brought her to the man.”
